Different Types of Computer Systems

What is a PC?

There are different types of Personal Computer there is Desk Top PC, Laptop, Netbook, PDA, Mobile Phone, Games console, Tablet, Server and Embedded.

Desk Top PC

The desktop computer was usually being assumed to be a fairly specific layout. This type of computer would contain most of the computer components, such as the CPU, the Hard Disk, and the RAM, within a single case that would sit level on a desktop. A monitor would then sit on top of the desktop computer case, and an external mouse and keyboard would attach to it.

Laptop

A laptop inverter is a small circuit board, usually about the size of a pen. Internally, a laptop runs on a low voltage, with the exception of the screen, which uses a backlit liquid crystal display (LCD). Without the inverter and the bulb it powers, the screen would be too faint to see properly. By controlling the output of the inverter, the laptop can adjust the brightness of its display. Some types of laptop inverter are able to do this automatically by using a small sensor to detect how bright the room is, and adjusting their output accordingly.

Netbook

Mobile Phone,

A mobile phone (also known as a cell phone and a hand phone) allows calls into the public switched telephone system over a radio link. Early mobile phones were usually bulky and permanently installed in vehicles; they provided limited service because only a few frequencies were available for a geographic area. Modern mobile phones make use of the cellular network concept, where frequencies are re-used repeatedly within a city area, allowing many more users to share access to the radio bandwidth. A mobile phone allows calls to be placed over a wide geographic area; generally the user is a subscriber to the phone service and does not own the base station.

Gaming consoles

Gaming consoles are devices designed for the sole purpose of playing video games. The console itself was the game system, which initially usually include any games playable on the system. Today consoles usually play games that are compatible with their system only and don't have built in game play features.
Tablet

A Tablet PC is a cross between a notebook PC and a personal digital assistant (PDA). It's a flat-panel portable PC in the form of a slate. A user inputs data either by tapping the screen with a stylus, or using the stylus to write directly on to the screen. The tablet PC can wirelessly connect to the Internet and other PCs and is intended to provide the power of a notebook in hand-held form.
Server

A web server is a computer that stores websites on the Internet and delivers web pages to viewers upon request. This service is referred to as web hosting. Every web server has a unique address, called an Internet Protocol address, that tells other computers connected to the Internet where to find the server on the vast network. The Internet Protocol (IP) address looks something like this: 69.93.141.146; this address links to a more human-friendly address, such as http://www.wisegeek.com. Web hosts rent out space on their web servers for people or businesses to set up their own websites, and the web server allocates a unique website address to each website it hosts.
Embedded

Embedded software is a type of software that is built into hardware systems. This software is typically designed to perform one specific function, although a single piece of hardware may contain multiple pieces of embedded software. Any piece of technology that has circuit boards and computer chips will likely have embedded software within it, from digital clocks to cell phones to calculators. These systems allow many of the advanced functions that are common in modern devices.
